Biography
Dr. Jeff Osarczuk is a conductor, educator, and saxophonist based in the Washington, D.C. area. With over 11 years of experience in music education, he has guided numerous students in their artistic and musical development while fostering a deep respect and appreciation for music and the arts.
As a college professor, he most recently served as the Director of Bands and Music Education at the University of West Florida, where he directed all concert and athletic bands, taught courses in music education and conducting, and coordinated all student-teacher placements and field observations. He also taught at Colby College as the Director of Bands and Saxophone Instructor and served as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University for three years.
He has appeared as a guest conductor for organizations and events including the Pokorny Low Brass Seminar, National Concert Band of America, Pensacola Civic Band, Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement, Monterey Peninsula College Concert Band, and as a guest clinician for numerous high schools across the country.
Having began his teaching career in California as a middle school band director, Osarczuk has been heavily involved in professional music education organizations and nonprofits. He has served as an adjudicator, clinician, board member, honor band chair, and event planner with organizations such as the Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra, San Bernardino County Music Educators Association, Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, Monterey Jazz Festival Summer Camp, International Double Reed Society, and the California Music Educators Association - Central Coast Section, where he served as President Elect and Chairperson of the Middle School Honor Band. He is currently a member of the National Association for Music Education and the College Band Directors National Association.
A passionate photographer, videographer, and audio engineer, his multimedia work has received hundreds of thousands of views online and has been featured by musicians and organizations such as the National Concert Band of America, University of West Florida, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University Marching Hundred, Monterey Jazz Festival, California Music Educators Association, and the Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra.
Osarczuk was awarded a full-tuition scholarship from Indiana University to pursue a Doctor of Music in Wind Conducting from the renowned Jacobs School of Music. Similarly, he was awarded a full-tuition scholarship from the University of Redlands, where he earned a Master of Music in Conducting. He also holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia, graduating cum laude. He has been an honorary member of the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society since 2013.
